An eFoil is a surfboard powered by electricity. It has an electric propeller just above the wing of the hydrofoil which powers the board to move through any water. It’s controlled by a handheld wireless remote that syncs to the eFoil via Bluetooth.

Efoils are silent and environmentally conscious (powered by a nearly silent electric motor and rechargeable battery). They do not rely entirely on weather conditions thus can be ridden anytime allowing you to get on the water more often and enjoy a unique feeling best described as a mixture of floating and flying.

Efoil surfing or efoiling is act of riding on an eFoil, one of the newest and most exciting extreme sports.

Efoils are powered by electricity. High voltage batteries are housed in the board itself. The rider uses a handheld controller to engage the propeller to make the board go.

Approximately one hour per charge. Times will vary depending on many factors such as the weight of the trainee/rider, the board and wing, wind and water conditions, riding style and speed.

Efoils have a mast and hydrofoil that enables the efoiler to lift out of the water. As the eFoil gains speed, the hydrofoil functions like an underwater wing. It deflects water pressure downward which in turn lifts the rider and board upward, entirely out of the water. As a result, the rider is “flying” over water.  Here is another less technical explanation, the foil is like a small airplane flying through water instead of air. Because water is about 800 times denser than air, the size of the wings is enough to lift the board and rider out of the water at only about 18 km/h.

There are several smaller brands on the global market however most popular and the biggest are Fliteboard and Lift. First commercial eFoil was launched in summer 2018 (not so long ago, right?). Since than many new releases and global upgrades followed, with Fliteboard leading the innovation in the eFoil segment. Latest new addition introduced in Feb '24. is Flite AIR. 

Efoils range from around 4 000 to 19 900 Euro for top range limited editions. Prices vary depending on the board’s quality, configuration, components, and brand. 

The efoil automatically shuts off when the hand controller touches the water, or when the trigger on the hand controller is released. The most important safety feature to note is the use of protective equipment and caution while using the product to avoid injury while riding. Fliteboard uses a magnetic ‘virtual leash’ system requiring users to arm the motor by pulling trigger and pressing button. This stops accidentally bumping the trigger and launching the board by accident which could be dangerous. In addition, the Fliteboard includes an accelerometer to constantly measure the board angle. If the board angle is abnormal (for example in the event of a crash) the motor will instantly cut off. This system is also used to stop the motor from being used if it is out of the water.

The eFoil is recommended for persons ages 16 years and older. Larger people can ride an eFoil with recommendations deferring based on the manufacturer, but for most of the boards are from min 45/50 kg to max 100 kg.

We recommend children under 16 to not participate in efoiling. Children 16 and older are safe to ride an eFoil. Although we brag a bit about how fast we can go on an eFoil, the reality is that only the pros operate this equipment at that top speed (60 km/h). During your first lesson, we stay around 20 km/h.

People who have any experience surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and/or foiling will quickly be able to master the eFoil. For those with no experience, don’t worry. It’s very easy to learn how to use the Fliteboard eFoil as Fliteboard has specifically designed a system that is easy to use and fun for all types of levels- from beginners to advanced riders.

Mastering an eFoil takes time. Riding above the water changes the center of gravity when it comes to turns. We estimate that it takes 10 hours to be comfortable foiling on flat water and 40 hours to be competent in different conditions.

LULL eFoil surfing school consists of beginner and advanced lesson. Each lesson lasts 1 hour and is conducted one on one or alternately one on a pair (depending on your booking type). Our school operates on one lesson a day basis so that a student has the possibility to absorb the information and techniques and to let him/her rest for the next session. In case you are visiting us on a short timeframe, have had your first session in the morning schedule and it went very well the Chief Instructor may proceed with you to have the next session in the evening schedule of the same day.

This depends on the ability of the rider. However, most people can stand on the moving board within the end of the first lesson. The act of foiling, lifting out the water and going back down again, may take a couple of hours to learn to control.

LULL eFoil surfing school starts with beginner lesson at the cost of 120€/pp and advanced lessons follow at the cost of 130€/pp.

Yes, the lessons are designed to give you the learnings and ability for riding the eFoil independently. Our Chief Instructor will evaluate your progress following each session.

Yes, you will! Once you start your advanced lesson you will be able to choose to go for the exam at the end of the lesson. Successful passing of the exam grants you the right to receive the LULL Fliteboard eFoil surfing school certificate. This certificate allows you to move to other category of services (rental, excursions) and supports you with other Flite Authorized Partners you might visit later.

Most of the lesson will be spent in the water, so a swimsuit is the obvious answer. Less obvious is that you will be transitioning between three positions: lying - kneeling – standing thus if you are sensitive on your knees, it would be a good idea to protect them with longer swim pants or neoprene sleeves to avoid unnecessary rubs or skin abrasions. For women, we recommend more than a bikini bottom. Ideally, wearing surf one-piece neoprene swimsuit or aerobic/paddling pants would be helpful. A UV shirt is also a good idea to keep the sun off your arms and neck, but not necessary.

Safety is paramount for us, so we will provide every student with a helmet and an PFD (personal flotation device)/impact vest. We have multiple sizes, so you will be covered. We also use communication devices so that we can provide you with clear instructions while on the water. Finally, we provide the Fliteboard eFoil for every student and all necessary equipment to ensure that you have a fun-filled experience.

We use Fliteboard AIR, Fliteboard and Fliteboard PRO boards. Fliteboard AIR is 183 cm long inflatable board that is buoyant and stable, thus beginner friendly. With its 150 l volume is prefect for schools, yachts & resorts, families and heavier riders. Fliteboard is versatile 173 cm long board; it has 100-liter volume and early planning what makes this board suitable for all riders. Fliteboard PRO is smallest volume board we offer and is targeted for advanced riders.

Swimwear and good vibes are all you need! We do recommend sun protection like water shades or sunglasses with sport head band and eco-friendly sunscreen, so we do not pollute the beautiful Adriatic Sea.

Absolutely! You will want to watch yourself when you get home and show your family and friends why you are so excited about this efoiling thing. We have helmet mounts on every helmet. If you have a standard GoPro mount to slip onto our helmets, you are encouraged to bring your GoPro camera.

Swimming proficiency is what we require. You will need to demonstrate to your instructor that you are able to swim with a PFD and helmet on while holding your hand controller. Everyone falls off the eFoil on their first try. Being able to swim back to your eFoil board is a common activity for any eFoil lesson. Speed is not required, grace is optional, but style points still count ☺.

Not at all! Any type of boarding experience (skateboards, snowboards, wake boards and surfboards) is helpful so that you have a good understanding of balancing on a moving board. Even with no balancing experience whatsoever our instructors will help you to get the best result so don’t you worry!

Athleticism is always a desirable trait to have when you are trying a new physical activity, but it certainly is not a deal breaker. First, standing up is not a requirement for foiling. Some of our students prefer the stability of kneeling and start to foil from their knees instead of from their feet. If you have a comfortable sense of balance, and you can perform a one-legged squat, you should be able to stand up on our eFoil boards. If a one-legged squat is difficult, or your balance is a bit shaky, then we would recommend that you stay in the laying or the kneeling position for your lesson.

Our lessons are mostly conducted in paths that are parallel to the shoreline. The area that we use typically is 100 meters offshore so that we are not interfering with offshore fishing and most swimmers. People on the shore will be able to see you, but they won't see the color of your eyes.

5 minutes will be just right so you can park your car and put your surf clothes on.

Please try to come on time as the session are booked in time slots and another student is coming in the slot after you, so in case you are late we will have shorter time to pass through the lesson. you are paying for an hour of one on one with the instructor thus we wouldn’t want you to lose anything from the fun experience.

Yes, we offer rental per day and per week. 

Pricing for rental is 300€ per day. In case you would want to rent a Fliteboard for a week, the price is 1800€.

Yes, of course! Other that the school lessons at our location in Štinjan, we offer private sessions from any location.

Main features of the private sessions from LULL eFoil surfing school are ability to try out different board and wing types, do a joint session with friends or family members, receive a video of your fun filled experience and all of that at your location. Yes, that’s right, wherever you are, land or sea we can come to you. Private session is designed and offered for individuals or groups (up to 4 people). We offer half day or full day private sessions.

The cost of a private session varies on the location and the duration. It’s customized to each requestor thus please reach out to us with your needs and we will be happy to share a quote. Prices start from 700 € for half day 4 person pax (includes 3 Fliteboard set ups, all safety equipment, video 360 shoot camera, private instructions for up to 4 people for 4 hours).

We are Flite Service Certified partner and offer different repair options. We offer service required for Fliteboard warranty and non-warranty related one. Please contact us on what do you need.

It’s a bit hard to say without seeing and evaluating your Fliteboard, but in general we would charge you the required parts as per their price list and serviceman hours at 60€/1 hour.

If you are a first timer you will choose beginner class. If you have had a chance to try Fliteboarding or eFoiling already and you can maintain your balance you will choose advanced class. 

We operate in Istria County where, as in the whole of Croatia, official currency is Euro.

We accept Visa, MasterCard and Maestro credit and debit cards as well as wire transfers and cash.

Unfortunately, we do not offer installment payment.

You are at liberty to book your lesson online through our website booking system for whatever date/time suites you, based on availability. It can be days/weeks in advance, or you can just book a day before, it’s up to you.

We also accept drop in reservations at our location, based on availability, so if you are passing by and want to try out eFoiling feel free to visit us.

In case you experience any difficulties via online booking you can also contact us via e-mail or phone to do the booking.

We know life is dynamic and plans can change! Don’t worry, just contact us 48h prior your booking to receive full refund. For cancellations till 24h before we will deduct 20% and for cancellation later than that we will deduct 50%. If you are cancelling within 4 hours of your scheduled booking unfortunately, we will not be able to refund you.

You can cancel your booked lesion by sending cancellation e-mail to hello@lullefoil.com.

Should conditions be unfavorable, or there is severe weather on the day of your lesson, LULL will make all efforts to reschedule your lesson. If we need to cancel your on the water experience due to unfavorable wind or dangerous weather conditions, you will not be liable for any costs. We do not cancel experiences if it is raining unless there is thunder or lightning.

Yes. We are licensed, insured, and authorized to do what we do. LULL is the ONLY Flite Authorized Partner in Istria County in Croatia. We are also insured as any reputable business would be to protect our assets, our operations, and our customers. We are as well authorized by Fliteboard to conduct service for your Fliteboard eFoils. Our Chief Instructor is eFoil certified trainer.

LULL eFoil surfing school is in Istria, in Štinjan, at the Lost Bay beach. Please refer to google map location.

We operate daily from 9 am to 3 pm by appointment. Please note that we might be on the water so if you come by our location and see the sign “fly you later!” reach out to us by WhatsApp, web or social media, or enjoy a drink at the Lost Bay beach bar till we are back.

You can store your personal belongings at our beach location or our lovely LULL van. 

Yes, you will have access to clean toilet facilities.
